India is not just a country but a land full of different cultures full of wisdom and the place which gave birth to religions like Sikhism, Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. The culture of India is very vast as it has 28 states and every state has it's own culture so I will be talking about my native state and the state of ancient wisdom and the land where mathematician Aryabhatta took birth, the state of Bihar.

History of Bihar

India has the oldest history in the world and in India the history of Bihar is the oldest as it dates back in 325 B.C., back then there was the Mauryan Empire ruling the state which they used to call the Magadh.
The idea of national emblem of India was taken from the stupa of Sarnath which is now in Uttar Pradesh.

It is said that the Mauryan empire was started by Chandragupta-1 and that the last king of this empire was the great Ashoka. He never lost any war and won control over whole India, but after the war of Kalinga where he saw immense bloodshed, he decided to not fight anymore and even after winning the war decided to give up his kingdom and started following Buddhism.
The Rohtasgarh Fort was made in 16th century by Sher Shah Suri and is situated in Rohtas district of Bihar.

There were many other rulers in Bihar like Sher Shah Suri who built the Uttarapath which is now known as Grand Trunk Road which connects Kolkata to Lahore; but there was no one like Ashoka in the history of India and the world.

India is famous for it's festivals, be it Holi, Diwali, Eid, Dussehra etc. But do you know which Indian festival is most famous in the foreign countries? The answer is none other than the holy festival of Chhath.
